Candidate's Pledge

I Joseph R. Leinweber Jr do solemnly pledge that if elected to the office of

The United States House of Representatives, Tennessee 2nd District

That I will represent the legitimate interests of my constituency and the American people in
accordance with my office as authorized by the Constitution of the State of Tennessee and
the Constitution of the United States of America.

In the tradition of the Founding Fathers, I will strive to represent only common sense
legislation within the enumerated powers of my office and that reflects the voice of the
people as a whole.

I swear to remember that I was elected by the people and for the people and not by any
special interest group. Those that have contributed to my election have done so with no
expectation of a quid pro quo.

I shall not engage in compromises that are against the core beliefs that I have and share
with my constituency.

Furthermore, I pledge that my closest advisors will be the people of my district and state,
the hard working Americans that expect me to be honest, serve with integrity so they can
deal with the harder job of raising their family and being part of their community.

I pledge that I will serve no more than eight years in office, no more than a President is
allowed.

I further pledge I will accept no pension plan or special investment or health benefits as
these are my responsibility and not that of the taxpayers that pay my salary.

I will accept no gifts other than that of edibles from the great people of my state and
district whom I represent.

Finally, I pledge that in the event there is any deliberate proven deception, collusion or
corruption while I am in office the people that elected me have the right to demand my
resignation following an impartial and unbiased inquiry; I will resign.
